i have an app that creates shortcuts. it generates the shortcut icon dynamically, so i need to know the correct launcher icon size.
to handle this, i created dimens.xml in values-ldpi/mdpi/hdpi/xhdpi/xxhdpi and defined my icon size to be 36/48/72/96/144px respectively.
this scheme works, except on 10", xhdpi tablets (like the nexus 10).
I know many persons have asked this question, but I really can't get a clear answer.

Hi I need help removing and Icon Bar that's appeared on my Galaxy Note 2. It's blue and has a little semi-circle tab that sticks out on the edge of the screen and when you touch it an icon bar appears with random icons on it. I can edit the bar and move it from one side of the screen to another but I can seem to get rid of it.
I tried creating an app which puts a shortcut icon on the home screen of the device.
It works nice on other devices, but on my Galaxy Nexus (with 4.2.1) the icon takes a crops the icon image and takes the top left of it only.
It appears like this:
Any idea why this might be happening, or is it a bug?
Hi all,
Quick question. I have a few apps where I'd like to make the app icon on my home screen larger. Basically to make it easier to find and push. I don't want all of the icons larger though.
I can resize my widgets, but if I try to edit just an icon, I can only change the name and image.
Hi all
Added my favorite contacts on a screen......
Ie Add/short cut/contacts/named person...
The contact icon which appears on screen is very small ....4 on each line and I wondered if I can increase the size to make it easier to read....
Many thanks for your help.

Mike
After compiling an app with a 72x icon, The scaling on several devices of differing dpi makes the icon appear slightly blurry. I have icons of different sizes (xhdpi 96x, mdpi 48x, and ldpi 36x) but have not yet found out how to include them or found confirmation if it is possible.
Thank you
When I switch applications with alt-tab under Unity (full version, not the 2d one), my open applications are displayed, represented by their respective icon. These icons are quite huge... everytime I hit alt-tab I'm a bit surprised by the thing that pops in my screen. I'd prefer a much smaller icon size.. is there a way to change this somewhere?
They seem to be ~96x96, I'd aim for 48x48 :)
