hi,
I'm new to programming on ubuntu. I have experience on windows ( a lot, with C/C++) but now I face some serious problems with my game engine ( IM trying to convert it into a linux version)
I use glX to display the window.
Google on Monday threw open its App Inventor beta program to the public. The tools used in this program let the user create mobile apps for the Android operating system, even if the user has very little programming knowledge.
I'm trying to install Lubuntu 13.04 on my Windows 8 machine. Specifically, the machine is an HP 2000 bf-69WM. This model came with a 64-bit installation of Windows 8, running with the UEFI boot system.
I installed Lubuntu for what I assume is fully, however when installing GRUB, the installer crashed. Using my LiveUSB, I managed to find that necessary files and folders were there.
Suppose I have a working application written in Python on some Linux distribution, I would like to know if it is possible to produce an executable for Windows within Linux, with pyinstaller or another similar program, and how to create some kind of Windows installer for that program that will place the program and some data in a relevant directory. Any advice is welcomed!
Thank you!
I did a bit of research and could not find the answer to my question (or maybe I completely missed it).
Here we go:
I am trying to install windows 7 on another net book and I was curious to know if I can download the windows 7 USB Boot loader (or something similar) on lubuntu and do it that way and then install on my other net book.
I have a few Windows portable applications that I would like to run under WINE. Most of these have simply an executable file (.exe) and a settings file (.ini). There is no install file (launcher). In Windows, I would simply create a folder ProgramName under the C:\Program Files folder. Then I would place the .exe and the .ini file in the ProgramName folder.
Hello Ubuntu Community,
I've read some posts in the forum, and some people have actually deleted their Windows OS. I haven't decided upon doing that yet, but I'm curious on how you do that. So, how do you delete windows?

Oh by the way, I replaced ubuntu with Lubuntu just yesterday. I heard from a friend the UI is a lot like Windows, and indeed it is.
Is it possible to program or run Windows executables under Linux not using wine when a Windows is already installed on the computer?
I mean from what I heard wine does nothing but download the Windows libraries and use those to emulate a windows environment to run programs.
I just installed Code::Blocks for Linux Mint 12, I wrote a program, built it (compiled it), and when I ran it, it didn't do anything, and returned 127 without doing anything.
I wen't into my debug folder, and nothing was there, so I went into my build folder, and found a file with a '.o' extension that wouldn't run.
So my question is, what do I have to do once I install code::blocks, to be able
