http://www.linuxquestions.org – Is there a command I can use that will take a picture with my webcam with no gui stuff at all, I want to have a go at time lapse photography and don't really want to take a picture manually every 10 seconds, thanks in advance (HowTos)

Tired of not knowing anything except Windows. Bought a Dell mini with Ubuntu 8.04 installed on it and I'm working on learning Unix from the command line. This Forum ought to be helpful once I get a little further along.

Hello, my hp pavilion ze4900 was workign perfectly then i installed some navidia driver thing ( wich wasnt for my cp) and then when i restarted it went blank. I have read various ways to fix this but i am still a linux noob and need much help.

Its not in the repo's. Its not in anything online that actually works. If i download the pack i either have the older versions of required packages or I dont have them all together. Now i cant get on any of the servers I did before because they upgraded, and I cant.

I'm just a desktop end user; On line banking, email, Youtube, IM, music, etc. The regular stuff. Can I get rid of Python? I don't program anything. Don't plan on it. Never gave it even a fleeting thought. Do I need it?

Does any other program or app depend on Python? Can I make a clean sweep of it? And if I can, what's the best way of doing it?

hi, i have recently installed opengeu which is based upon ubuntu 8.04 but i need the deb package for the latest kernel as my terminal rejects any attempt of making it and without the kernel my net and few other bit dont work. if anyone could send me a link to it i would be most grateful

After the program is finished searching and comparing between DNS it will give you the results including the fastest and nearest DNS in your area.

Trash, USBs, filesystem, etc.. These icons are on my desktop, but I can't for the life of me find where that option is..

I want them gone, anyhow. Any suggestions?
