Earlier this week we published the full schedule for LinuxCon Europe and Embedded Linux Conference Europe. In many ways, I think the technical content for LinuxCon Europe may be the best collection of speakers we've ever had.
On the Linux systems, we have scripts which monitor disk usage. I want to take that data and feed that into SQL database. Can you give some advise.
For example here is one of the file.
I'm trying to understand how the 2nd parity bit or byte is set in RAID 6. I'm reading a paper by H. Peter Anvin, and it goes into Galois field algebra, which is somewhat new to me. It's at http://kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/hpa/raid6.pdf.
Although I tried installing Ubuntu from USB and CD, I have no success. My new Acer Aspire One came with no major OS, just Linux's Linpus. I am able to select my external CD/DVD and USB drives in BIOS to boot first, but after selecting them, respectively, the installing process gets stuck in the very beginning, as if in an endless loop.
I downloaded the Fedora 18 KDE Spin 32-bit from the below link
http://fedoraproject.org/en/get-fedora-options#desktops
And i burn the ISO image in the DVD and boot the PC from the DVD to install the same.
(I did this same for Ubuntu 12.1 and Linux Mint 14. And that got installed properly)
When booting, i got the below message.
ISOLINUX 4.05 2011-12-09 EHDD Copyright (c) 1994-2011 H.
I just decided to move to Linux. I downloaded the Mint 13 iso and wrote it to a DVD.
I installed it on my Win7 laptop with VMware workstation to test and all worked fine. So I decided to reboot my laptop so I can format and install Mint... But, it reboots and starts the loading process then gets stuck right there "ISOLINUX 4.04 20110711 ETCD Copyright (c) 1994-2011 H.
I think I may have found the cause of my problems with connecting to wifi in Ubuntu 11.10.
I type this in Terminal:
peter@peter-AO531h:~$ rfkill list all
0: phy0: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: yes
1: acer-wireless: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: yes
Hard blocked: no
peter@peter-AO531h:~$ rfkill unblock all
peter@peter-AO531h:~$
If I am correct I must unblock all of t
I have a working PXE boot server running on CentOS 5.5 that works perfectly for any flavor of Linux. I'm trying to add FreeBSD to the install options as a ISO memdisk, but so far nothing is working out. When I try to boot, I get the following:
Loading memdisk....Ready
MEMDISK 3.11 2005-09-02 Copyright 2001-2005 H.
