Love this awesome phone but as of late the proximity sensor on this note has either broke or is buggy. First started to notice that the red light of the proximity sensor would not turn off. After a while as I make phone calls my screen will turn off but as I put my phone away from my face it doesn't turn back on.
I think I'm having a issue with the proximity sensor on my htc one. I End up disconnecting calls or loudspeaker.
The proximity sensor is on the top left of the phone and i normally put my ear against the top right f the phone as I wear glasses. Since i have small ear's, the sensor doesn't get covered. Normally the sensor is near the ear piece so never had this issue.
I have a P925. Unlocked it though IMEI, my proximity sensor was acting up, since the screen went off during calls and no button would bring it back. I checked the rest of the components on the same flex cable (camera, earspeaker, noise mic) and all work fine except for the proximity sensor, so i thought it might be a software problem.
I rooted the phone and installed the clockworkMOD thing...
Many people reported issues with proximity sensor being buggy. If calibrating didn't work for you the issue is probably the same as mine.
This only affects third party apps screen on/off during calls should be working fine.
What happens is that any app requiring the use of proximity sensor will work straight after installation but will most likely stop working after a reboot.
I noticed my proximity sensor randomly stopped working properly without making any changes to my phone recently. I'm rooted but don't have the latest OTA updates because I didn't want to lose root. The screen will either shut off and not turn back on when I put the phone up to my ear, or it will just shut off on its own without me covering the sensor.
Recently, my phone has been having a problem with the proximity sensor during calls. When I finish a call, or want to look at my screen, the screen does not turn on by itself so I need to press the home button for the screen to light up. This is very annoying!
So, I can't seem to find an answer to this. Most posts seem to say it is the proximity sensor, but I don't think that is it. Anyway......
I have a Galaxy S4. I use the pattern screen lock. If the phone is locked when I receive an incoming call, I can answer it by swiping. However, the phone remains locked. I have no way to switch it to speaker phone, look up a contact, or even hang up.
Since yesterday i have a problem with my proximity sensor.
It think something is in front of it always.
So when i make or receive a call the screen goes black and stays black untill the other person hangs up.
