problem with wireless after compiling kernel

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – I have compiled the latest kernel, 2.6.31 for fedora 11 x86_64 on my Asus A7K laptop. Everything is working perfectly apart from the lack of fglrx support. The problem is that when i boot with an older fedora shipped kernel i have no wireless. The NetworkManager is running but no channels are detected. Even if i kill the NetworkManager and manually try to find the channels: sudo iwconfig wlan0 scan i get no results. Can someone help me?? The wireless is working perfectly with the newly manually compiled kernel but not with the previous ones. I want to get back to the old kernels eventually because of the lack of ati-drivers. Any ideas? Some extra info from lspci -vv for the wireless card: Quote: 07:00.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications Inc.
