Problem using ftp over ssh

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – I have both a desktop and a laptop running Fedora 17 and Xfce. Until recently, I was able to use gFTP on my laptop to transfer files using SSH2 and Port 22, either from home or on the road. (I have my own domain, and use dynamic DNS to access my machine and Port 22 is forwarded to the correct internal IP.) Alas, since I was forced to re-install F 17 on my desktop, I've only been able to use FTP and Port 21, which I'd rather not open to the outside world. Oddly enough, ssh itself works. I've checked the firewall config and ssh is allowed in. Systemctl shows that sshd.service is enabled (HowTos)
