Alright, i have an ubuntu server on which i couldnt connect to my WPA2 secured wifi network.
Apparently i need wpa-supplicant to be able to connect to it
(How do I connect to a WPA wifi network using the command line?)
, but ironically i can't download it being offline. So, how can i download wpa-supplicant, get it on a usb and install it on the server? I have no idea so far...
So i recently installed ndiswrapper and after 3 painstaking days i finally got my realtek rtl8190e driver to work. But now my wireless card will try to connect to my router and it fails. I used the dmesg command to see what the issue might be and it said ipv6 wlan0 link not ready.
I just realized that wpa-supplicant is not clearing its settings when I disconnect, and is overriding iwconfig on my next connection.
I disconnect using a script which includes everything I could think of:
sudo dhcpcd --release "$INTERFACE"
sudo iwconfig "$INTERFACE" essid off
sudo iwconfig "$INTERFACE" ap off
sudo ifconfig "$INTERFACE" down
This worked well until I tried to integrate wpa-suppl
