Hi all,i have centos 6.2 and i have a problem with skype installation:# rpm -i skype-18.104.22.168-2.x86_64.rpmerrore: Dipendenze fallite: libQtCore.so.4 necessario... [by ajeje1982]
i know whats the problem why we cannot connect to skype.your skype needs to be updated into skype 6.20 and this file is in this website is in http://www.skype.com/en/download-skype/ it works for me becauce 6.11 is an old Skype version. All Skype versions older than 6.14 are now being retired and this means that you no longer can use your 6.11 version. The currently latest Skype version is 6.20.
Skype on my ubuntu(Linux Vostro-2520 3.2.0-32-generic #51-Ubuntu SMP Wed Sep 26 21:33:09 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux) laptop not working(it is signing then small window coming and then closing) i mean it is cashing every time.
after closing of skype automatically the following pop up is coming
Sorry, Uuntu 12.04 has experienced an internal error
OS: Ubuntu 12.04
Problem: When I try to login to Skype, it says ¨cannot connect to server¨ - i understand that Skype no longer connects to server when the Skype version is less than 4.3, so my problem is as follows:
When I ask terminal for Skype version, it says the Skype version I have is 4.3
But when I open the Skype application (the only one available) it says it is version 4.0

I used to use Skype all the time--no problem. Then I didn't use it for several months and I downloaded the new Skype. Then when I went to use it the person on the other end couldn't see me, and I could only see her through a purple flashing screen.
Now I can't even log in.
So I removed the Skype I had. Then I installed Skype from the Ubuntu software center.
