I solved it with download Google Chrome, works out of the box. But it seems a little slower than iceweasel. How do i mark this as solved? Solved enough for me atleast. Lula

...This week I installed CrunchBang on my new DIY box.But when using Iceweasel, it would stall and go greyfor a few seconds. Other applications still worked. So I installed Chrome using Synaptic Package Manager.Chrome hasn't stalled once on my new box - yet.Next step was to put Chrome into root-menu.But when I looked for Chrome in User/Share/Applications,it was not there.Where is it?Earl
I am still getting used to the new look of the forum , which I must add is quite nice.
But I noticed that in the "thread tools" drop down menu , there is no 'Mark As Solved' . Does that option no longer exist ? If so , what procedure should I follow to indicate that my query is solved ?
Sorry to double post but I solved it.The problem had something to do with the "sata" hook. I moved it so that it is loaded before the autodetect hook and now I am able to get as far as I was able to with the fallback image.Unfortunately, both images still result in an error and hang.

It makes it longer, but maybe the advice in people's signatures to "Please mark solved threads as [SOLVED] using the Thread Tools link above" could be changed to something like:
"Please mark solved threads as [SOLVED] using the Thread Tools link near the top right of the page."
