Somewhat new to Linux.
I'm running OpenSuse 11.2 and have been having some problems with my c7280 "all-in-One". I initially configured the printer through Yast using the Network IP: Port and driver method. I can get the printer to work correctly, however scanner is not detected even with HP setup. I can't seem to manually configure the scanner.
Hi, I have Fedora 12 installed on my computer and I'm trying to set up a printer and a scanner for my personal use.
The printer is a Canon LBP 3200 and the scanner a Mustek 1200 UB Plus. Both are connected via USB.
For the printer i managed to install a driver, but it will still not print. It only ejects blank pages. For the scanner i tried sane, but to no avail.
I have a canon pixma mg5300 series printer/scanner. I am able to print with it, after I successfully added the driver (if I remember correctly, I had to install it from the constructor, though I'm not sure, it was quite some time ago). However, I don't know how to use the scanner. I tried typing 'scan' in the dash, and a application named 'simple scan' appeared.
Could someone tell me if there's scanner utility that can detect a scanner over a network.
I have the drivers installed for the printer scanner, and I can print to the printer side of it,
I just can't figure out how access the scanner side
any help is appreciated

Just installed Ubuntu 12.04. Have a Brother DCP-197C printer/scanner. Any idea how I can get it working? Have tried the Printer thing in Settings with no success at all.
Hello,
Ever since I switched to Ubuntu 12.04 the scanner on my Epson Stylus NX230 won't work. At the same time I started running lUbutntu because the regular version is too fancy for my crappy old computer. The scanner used to work when I had whatever version I had before, but now when I try to scan an image using either Scanner Utility or Simple Scan it says no scanner is connected.
Hello Everyone,I have an HP B110 Photosmart scanner/printer. It prints faultlessly wirelessly but I cannot get it to scan either wirelessly or wired.I've installed xsane & simple-scan but that doesn't detect it.
I want to make different user accounts separate in Ubuntu 12.04 for some applications only.
My brother uses some applications I don't want so more specifically,
Can I install application like "Wine" or "Webapps" in my account but have the application not appear in or affect other accounts??
The reason is that if I install Wine it conflicts with the Arabic fonts, causing problems on all account
