http://forums.opensuse.org – Hello, first an overview of my hardware: Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3 rev 2.1 Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 @ 3,16GHz 2x2GB OCZ Reaper DDR2-1066 Gainward Geforce GTX 260 Overclocked @ Golden Sample Main harddrive: 200GB Samsung SATA2 @ IDE Native Mode Creative X-Fi Extreme Music Samsung Synchmaster T200 always pluged in usb devices: Logitech G5 Logitech G11 Canon Pixma iP4600 ok now my problem: I've made a brand new opensuse 11.2 (amd64, kernel-desktop) installation and installed the nvidia driver 190.53 from the official nvidia repository. Sometimes when the XServer restarts (i.e. on log-off or when I switch runlevels from 3 to 5) the system is getting very, very slow. When I try to switch to tty1 it takes 30 sec, log in takes 1 min, when I click on the desktop I can't even move my mouse for ~30 sec. Here's what I've tried: -Update Kernel. -Update KDE to 4.3.5. -Update KDE to 4.4. -New installation, installed an older Nvidia driver via run shell from the nvidia site (190.42 which works fine on my fathers machine, he got the exactly same video card) => Bug is still there. Hello! I am trying to play runescape in HD.I got a GeForce 9600M GT video card. I uninstalled the xorg-x11 driver-video-nouveau driver wich was installed by default then added Nvidia in the repositories and installed what i got from Nvidia repository. But i still get Runescape was unable to enter that display mode when i try to run RS in HD mode.

I have a problem with this configuration:

Asus K55V, Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and Nvidia driver 304.51.

I have remove the nouveau driver with:

apt-get --purge remove xserver-xorg-video-nouveau

I installed the official nvidia driver (from www.nvidia.com) but when I reboot the PC the resolution of screen is only 640x480 and the monitor is resized.

Mo solution at this problem if i change the xorg.conf.

Hi,I recently bought a Thinkpad T520 with both integrated intel gfx and nvidia discrete gfx.  While I mostly use the gfx for normal usage, to hook up to an external display, I have to use the nvidia card.  How can I get both the intel and nvidia drivers installed so that when I boot with intel gfx, the intel driver is used and when I reboot with nvidia, the nvidia driver is used?  I

After playing around on my F17 test installation with new kernels and nVidia drivers, I have discovered that installing a binary nVidia driver from nVidia works with a new-ish kernel (one without akmod or kmod support), and everything runs fine. The nVidia installation goes smoothly, and there are no issues.
