Guys;
I followed the steps of these tutorial to install Ubuntu 12.10:
http://www.linuxbsdos.com/2012/05/17...d-windows-7/2/
However, when i try to boot Ubuntu, this message appears:
GRUBA4DOS 0.4.5b 2011-11-27, Mem:634k/511m/3070m, End: 35560D
minimal BASH like line is supported. For the first word, TAB lists possible command completions.
Hi, all-
I have a Win 7 / Ubuntu dual-boot setup on my laptop, so to simplify things (so I thought!), instead of doing a fresh install of Ubuntu as I prefer to do, I decided to try the upgrade route this time. But let me back up a bit...
Basically ive dual booted windows 8 and ubuntu 12.10 using this guide:
http://www.linuxbsdos.com/2012/11/05/dual-boot-windows-8-and-ubuntu-12-1...
It all works perfectly but there are 2 minor things im disliking and cannot change?
The first is on the Windows 8 Dual Boot screen, as seen in the link i posted on image 1, there are 2 options, windows 8 and ubuntu, each with its ow
I tried to install in my laptop Ubuntu 12.04 so that I can dual-boot with Windows 7. I made some mistakes during this process and I didn't manage to install Ubuntu.
But my real problem now is that I'm afraid that I also destroyed the installation of Windows 7.
I have installed Ubuntu 12.04 on my preinstalled windows 7 Sony vaio s series laptop
following instructions here:
http://www.linuxbsdos.com/2012/05/17/how-to-dual-boot-ubuntu-12-04-and-w...
Everything went well and I am able to boot in to windows after complete installation of Ubuntu.
I dual boot Windows 7 and Ubuntu, though I use Ubuntu entirely for day-to-day computing. Today I had to switch back to Windows to find an old file, but when I tried to boot back into Ubuntu this odd thing appeared:
GNU GRUB version1.99-21ubuntu3
Minimal bash-like line editing is supported. For the first word,
TAB lists possible command completions.
Okay, so I followed this tutorial (http://www.linuxbsdos.com/2012/05/17...and-windows-7/) to dual-boot Ubuntu 12.04. Everything went great, however I've got this issue (details here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2063704) and I'm having the worst of luck finding a fix. So, I was just going to uninstall Ubuntu and reinstall it the same way.
A few months I decided to install Ubuntu 12.04 on my PC alongside with my Windows 7 partition. In order to do that and avoid any mistake, I followed the steps of these tutorial:
http://www.linuxbsdos.com/2012/05/17/how-to-dual-boot-ubuntu-12-04-and-w...
Everything was going well until I decided to update to the 12.10 realese.
I am trying to install Ubuntu on my windows system. This is the first time I am installing any Linux version. So please pardon my naivety.
I searched for steps to install and I found this 2 page tutorial.
http://www.linuxbsdos.com/2012/10/11...uefi-hardware/
I followed the exact same steps.
