This is a reent annoyance that just started rearing it's ugly head. I live in the boonies, but I have reliable 4G coverage. Lately, on my phone, the data connection randomly switches to 3G. After a few minutes it will occasionally switch back, but sometimes it will only switch back if I switch on Airplane Mode, then switch it back off.
Is there any way to force the phone to stay on 4G mode?
Hello everybody,
I've been using EVO V for almost 2 months now and I started having serious problems. When I first got it 3G/4G and everything else was working perfectly. Then about a month later, 4G stopped working. I can turn it on; but scanning doesn't find any available network.
We are working on GPS Tracker App on Android 2.3.3 version OS.
Our app records GPS data every 3 mins automatically & sends it to our IP based server for further processing. This work quite good till there is GPRS available.
But as soon as GPRS is lost, our app still continues to record data in text file.
But when GPRS is recovered, data is sent only from when connection was recovered.
Hello,
hard to describe my problem. Normally WiFi as well as 3G is turned on. At home the phone is using WiFi but when I leave home and do not have WiFi anymore it often does not automatically switch to 3G. I still have coverage indicated by the status bars but the H is missing. As a workaround to bring 3G back I can either switch between 3G and 2G or go into Airplane mode and back.
I recently switch to a Galaxy S3 on Verizon. I decided to stay with Verizon for some reason...I think it was the 4g. The problem I'm having is everytime my phone drops to 3g speed it literally stops doing ANYTHING. I just got the Jelly Bean update and hoped it would fix it but it hasen't.
I am on Ubuntu 11.10 and not liking the look I have decided to switch to xubuntu, I downloaded the Xubuntu 11.10 live cd but before I installed it I wanted to check if the Internet works on it, but I can't seem to get it to work, it's easy in ubuntu, all I have to do it add my phone with bluetooth add new device, after it gets paired, the next windows opens which has 2 boxes.
My problem is when I use my phone in the gym. I put the ear buds in and listen to Slacker radio. About 30 minutes later the phone turnes itself down. If I try and turn it back up it will turn the music off all together and will flash a message about protecting my hearing. I had it put back to original settings and this worked for about a week. Now its right back at it.
Dear All,
I have quite a weak signal / bad coverage at my post code.
I read a lot and found one thread on Moneysavingexpert.com which suggest the following solution to improve the signal.
This is so annoying! And apparently I'm not alone. I got my strat back in June and ever since there's always been problems with me connecting to (and staying connected to) data, whether it be 1xRTT, eHRPD, or LTE. 90% of the time it never connects to LTE but when it does it only lasts for like 5 minutes.
