printing problems with DDST (aka PLC6) printer RICOH Aficio SP C240DN

http://unix.stackexchange.com – I'm having big problems printing on a RICOH Aficion SP C240DN (a color laser printer). Cups/Openprinting doesn't have a driver for exactly this printer. There are near numbers but not 240DN. It also seems there is no PPD file for this printer, as it doesn't accept PostScript at all. There are only so-called DDST and ICM drivers for windows and mac, but no PPD (as opposed to slightly older models from RICOH (320DN for example). The technician at the company where i bought the printer said that DDST is a stripped-down version of PLC6. The connection to printer works, i can access web interfac (HowTos)

Hi,

I'm trying to print to a Ricoh Aficio printer, my OS is Ubuntu 11.10 on a Sony laptop.

When I connect it it all seems ok, in the sense the printer appears on the printer list and is recognised as the correct model.

However when I send a test page the folllowing occurs.

Instead of printing a test page it prints the following text:

"CUPS PrintTestPage"

not sure why this is happen

After installing a Ricoh Aficio SP 100su E printer (it does scanning as well), I've tried a tenth of the GDI and PCL (5e/6) generic and Ricoh drivers without any success.

I've learned from Ricoh that this printer uses GDI standard... but these drivers don't seem to work. No errors occur, but no pages are printed out.

Has anybody succeeded to print under Linux with this one?

Here's a quick write-up on my real-life experience with adding the HP LaserJet and Ricoh Aficio MP 3500 as printers in Ubuntu GNU/Linux.I chose to make a note of this simple task because I was tripped up by it at first. The problem? The default setting caused nothing but garbage at the printer.

Hi all, I am running F17, 3.6.9-2.fc17.i686.PAE and having problem to get my network printer to work. I installed the printer under Application>others>printing, it seems detect my printer over network and allow my to finish the process with correct printer path.

I have several computers connected to a single network printer. I want to add a second profile for the network printer so that I can give it different printing properties (landscape vs portrait).

We are using Windows XP. The network printer has an address like:

\\SERVERCOMPUTER\Dell Laser Printer M! Dell Laser Printer M5200

How can I add a second printer profile or a network printer?

Any ideas will be helpful.

My ubuntu version is update to 12.04 and now I have problems printer. When I install driver printer, I don't have problem and I can print test page.

But I can't print all files.

Hello, I have installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS on my PC.

But I could not run my Canon i-SENSYS LBP3250 laser printer on it.

I have disabled SElinux and also installed CAPT Printer Driver for Linux V2.20 but still my printer is not printing.

Whenever I submit a print job, in printer properties it shows 'processing-sending data to printer' but nothing happens!

Can anyone help me?
