http://forums.fedoraforum.org – I setup my Canon MX870 while running F17. I successfully printed a test page, and didn't print anything after that. I upgraded to F18 and tried to print, but nothing was sent to the printer. I've checked Cups (localhost:631) and it shows that the print jobs completed. While trying to troubleshoot I found that I can't ping my printer anymore. Well, I can but not always. Not sure what triggers it. I have a Windows VM running on the same computer, and it can ping and print, so it's not the printer, and there's nothing physically wrong. Any ideas why I can't ping the printer? I"m usi (HowTos)

The green light is on-on my printer, but when I select something to print, and see the logo "print executing" and and the bar completed, it doesn't print. I'm having trouble getting my networked printer to print and am hoping someone can lend some advice. I'm running openSUSe 11.3 on a laptop and the printer is connected to my desktop which is running Windows XP. I have the printer and several folders and drives shared. I can see the folders and drivers on my laptop but I cannot get the printer to actually print.

Running 11.04 SMB printer HP Photosmart 7150 shared by Windows XP sp3 USB printer Epson CX8400 AIO and yes everything works

1. Sent job to SMB printer and waited but no response so I sent the same job to the USB printer.

2. USB printer did not respond so I sent the same job back to the SMB printer and it started to print.

3. After the SMB job was finished the USB job started to print.

In Ubuntu 10.10, I have my printer, an Epson D120, shared. I can print from the computer itself, but other computers cannot print to it. Both Ubuntu and Windows machines have the printer successfully installed. They can access it, I can access CUPS from all these machines and the the job queue even reports the jobs sent from these computers.

I don't print often but have found myself with the need to print documents over the next few months. I have 2 computers one is my wife's which is running vista. Because I can't stand vista I am running duel boot ubuntu 9.10. and vista.

How can I configure a printer to print wirelessly in ubuntu 12.04 ?

I have a canon pixma mg 5300 series, and I am able to print correctly by usb (the drivers were installed). Now I'm trying to do it wirelessly.

I configured the printer so that it connects to my access point, and assigned it a static IP (192.168.0.6). It connects correctly, and responds to ping.

Hi all,I have a Canon MP600 printer/scanner connected via USB to a small print- and scan-server running Arch (last update was yesterday). The printer is shared over the network and can be accessed from a Windows 7 client. But from time to time after 1-2 prints the printer crashes. I that happens, only a power disconnect can bring it back.

I have a HP 5510 and FC#16. While printing a job, got frustrated at several extra unnecessary pages that were being printed, and, unable to somehow tell the printer to only print the pages required, hit the on/off button and turned off the printer. When we turned the printer back on, nothing would print.

Toshiba Laptop L350-S5933, Intel Pentium Dual CPU T3400 @2.16 GHz, Ram 3.o GB, ACPI x86 32 bit OpSys, Canon MP560, Dual Boot installed Karmic (Vista other OS), Canon is logged into wireless network using Actiontec.

Ubuntu shows the printer as the default printer. Listed as Make & Model: Canon Pixma MP500 - cups+ Gutenprint v5.4
