Hello everybody,
i got this problem with my printer, but it seems really a problem a lot of people are having.
i have ubuntu 10.04, and run on an parrallel port a hp 6l. the printer was found but could not print, the printing documents were pending and then disseappered.
Now i have connected a hp laserjet 8100 DN on the parrallel port.
All right, this is driving me nuts.
I have an HP Color LaserJet cm1312nfi connected to the ethernet jack on a D-Link DPR-1260 wireless usb print server - so the print server acts as a wireless bridge. I can't get any Ubuntu box to print to the LaserJet. Windows XP and Vista laptops on the network print to it just fine.
I have a fresh install of Mythbuntu 12.04.01
I download and installed the Canon drivers from the Canon website:
UFR II Printer Driver for Linux Version 2.50
I used the procedure at this location:

When I print documents, I see them show up in the print queue.
Hi all -I have done a fresh install, added printer support through the post-installation script, installed hplip and xsane but when I try to print the print job status sticks at 'processing' and when I use simple-scan it reports 'device is busy'.I can print and scan under Ubuntu 12.04 so I know it isn't the machine or the cables.Does anyone have any suggestions please?
I have been unable to print to an HP Deskjet D2660 that I have connected to my Mac ever since I started using the 64 bit Ubuntu (starting with Natty, IIRC). Previously, this printer worked just fine with 32 bit Ubuntu versions.
The Mac is running OS X 10.7.5 'Lion' and the current HP drivers from Apple are installed.
I am using 12.04 64 bit. I have noticed if I configure (connect) any printer when my machine is connected to Lan (eth port) then it takes print job only if I am connected to Lan. If I try any printing job on wifi, it gets stuck in the print queue.
I have a HP 5510 and FC#16. While printing a job, got frustrated at several extra unnecessary pages that were being printed, and, unable to somehow tell the printer to only print the pages required, hit the on/off button and turned off the printer. When we turned the printer back on, nothing would print.
Anyone know how to sort out printing problems?
I'm trying to print a simple document in Open Office. My printer was running perfectly yesterday. However, now it just wont print and the print queue keeps showing "job pending" It seems as the PC is not communicating with the printer.
Please help,
Thanks
Katya
