Before I go ahead, this fedora core 16 is running quite happily under vmware esx 3.5

Hey folks,
I am trying to upgrade from Fedora 16 KDE (details of my system in my sig) to Fedoa 17 using preupgrade.
I ran preupgrade from a rooted shell to see any error messages that might not be shown in GUI, and as I feared, there was one error:
Code:

Hello,
Today I tried to upgrad my FC8 to FC16 using preupgrader following instructions from http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/PreUpgrade page. I have 200MB /boot partition but I used Method 1 in documentation to fix it.
The two issues I am seeking help with are:

I shutdown and restarted the upgrade.
Hi,

We followed preupgrade method described on the project's web and chose to upgrade to F17 as it was on the menu of choices.
After wasting hours downloading thru the preupgrade GUI we rebooted an
I'm trying to upgrade from an up-to-date F16 to F17 using preupgrade.
The preupgrade script, however, doesn't seem to download any packages. It seems to fail setting up repos. And when I did not notice this the first time, I let it reboot.
Hi all
I've read a few threads where people are seeing the same issue as me, but have yet to find a good solution. Here's my problem:
