I am trying to setup up an HP Officejet G85xi printer through an Iomega Home Media Network Hard Drive, so that the printer can be shared over the network without requiring that an attached computer be turned on to print. There is a place on the back of the Network Hard Drive to plug in the printer with USB.

Hi,
We have 3 computers with windows xp installed and two canon ir2200-ir3300 printer all connected through a router box. Each computer and each printer has ip addresses. It was configured like tcp ip enabled printer inside the local printer option. Each windows system can see both printer with ip and can select them to print.
Now we want to try ubuntu in one of the system.
I have Windows7 on one machine. Ubuntu 12.10 on another. I have a printer connected to the Windows7 machine. Basic network home lan setup. The brother printer works fine on windows 7. I setup "share printer" on the windows7 machine.
I have several computers connected to a single network printer. I want to add a second profile for the network printer so that I can give it different printing properties (landscape vs portrait).
We are using Windows XP. The network printer has an address like:
\\SERVERCOMPUTER\Dell Laser Printer M! Dell Laser Printer M5200
How can I add a second printer profile or a network printer?
Hi all,I have a Canon MP600 printer/scanner connected via USB to a small print- and scan-server running Arch (last update was yesterday). The printer is shared over the network and can be accessed from a Windows 7 client. But from time to time after 1-2 prints the printer crashes. I that happens, only a power disconnect can bring it back.
Hopefully someone can give me some help. At my office, I run Ubuntu 10.04 on my computer. I am trying to connect to a printer over the network that is connected directly to a Windows XP machine. I have gone through all of the steps to install the printer. I have Samba. The printer is shared on the XP machine. I have the drivers.
I'm in a college setting trying to use the printer connected to my desktop PC (running Windows 7) with my laptop running Ubuntu 12.04. Here's a few preliminary details;
Host computer (Windows) name: Alex-PC
Printer share name: 332
Workgroup name: WORKGROUP
Network security: WPA2-Enterprise
Encryption: AES
In the recent past (last few days) I've had it working just fine.
I have a Brother MFC 5440CN connected to my Windows Vista Desktop which is connected to the Workgroup. I have figured out how to get to the menu to connect to it, but there is no driver listed for this printer in the drop . I tried downloading from the Brother website but don't know which to choose and how to install. Thank you.
