I'm looking for guidance on a potential Xenserver setup. I have a fairly beefy webserver that is currently hosted in a colo with a single public IP address. I'd like to install Xenserver on it, virtualize the webserver part, and set up a couple other VMs on it. Is this even possible without external hardware? I imagine I would need to set up some kind of virtual router to make it work.
I'm running both Ubuntu server and desktop as virtual guests on XenServer, and when trying to install XenServer tools, it complains that the current tools package is not ready for 12.04. Is Ubuntu working on a package? Where can I obtain it?
I had an AIO w/ZFS on ESXi 5.1 a little while ago, then split it up into a fileserver machine running on bare metal and a XenServer 6.2 VM machine. All VMs were stored on the filesever, along with everything else for the business.
Now I need to move back to a single machine. I do remember reading somewhere on [H] - a post by Gea perhaps?
Are there any tricks to getting Arch installed on XenServer 6.2?I am booting off the iso image which boots OK into the first screen showing various options. I select either architecture and it kind of flashes to another screen for a while and then comes back to the main menu. I have tried ISO's over the network and then in a local DVD drive.
