After installing Crunchbang 9.04.01 using the scripts from a minimal Ubuntu install I've noticed my AA1's battery life is uhhh, not so good. 1 hour 45 minutes not good to be exact, which compared to UNR9.04 and Crunchbang 8.10 is a bit sucky, as I was getting 2 hours plus off both.I was wondering if anyone has any tips for reclaiming a few more of those precious watts?
This is actually a copy of a (long) post reply I did in another thread a little while ago but heck, there are lots of posts and questions about battery life and I have 10 tips or things I do that maybe help to some so here it is...
( This was the original question:
What's a good figure for battery life on the GS3? The best I've got is about 31 hours using on demand and bfq.
Hi all,
I'm looking for advice to improve the terrible battery life on my HP DV4-1225dx. I'm running an up to date 11.10.
There are a few problems with it:
1) The battery only lasts about an hour on a full charge.
2) Any time I unplug it, ubuntu thinks it's about to run out of battery and hibernates (once it wake it back up, it doesn't complain for ~ an hour).
Top 5 Battery Saving Tips for Android :good:
The average smartphone run by the little green robot lasts for 5 hours and 38 minutes on a charge, but the average Android tablet stays juiced up for 6 hours 38 minutes. Neither of those runtimes equals a full work day, assuming you spend all day on the phone.
Here's my problem:
I have a laptop running Arch that I just keep on at home. It's got a good 4 hour battery life, but sometimes my daughter is playing near where it's kept and ends out pulling the plug.
I love be this phone. Well, I really want to live it. However, I'm quite disheartened to hear others talk about the superb battery life in the LGOG, when I find the battery life in mine as simply atrocious. Under moderate to the-low-side-of-heavy use, I *might* get four (FOUR) hours of use. In tried eco mode, but that didn't help.
1. Running Juice Defender Ultimate with Lux Paid version....
2. System Power Saving ON. Note : Custom is off!
3. Google Talk is Signed OUT... (Reason for power drain)
4. Samsung Dive is OFF (Settings -> Security) (Possible bug or reason for drain???)
5. Facebook is On.. check every 2 hours.
6. GPS Off, Bluetooth Off... Sync is OFF
7. Voice Command Driving Mode is off...
So, this may be answered because of what I'm observing, but I'm curious to see what other people think.
Normally, I get excellent (>12 hours) battery life on stock rom. I have it rooted, but I've done nothing else with it. However, over the past month or so during the week my battery would go from 100% to dead in less than 6 hours with almost 0 use whatsoever.
First, here's the constants: I keep wifi/BT/GPS on 100% of the time. This was true when battery life was good, and now that battery life is bad. Disabling these will improve battery life, but will not fix my problem.
When the phone is sleeping overnight, I used to get 8-12% battery usage over about 8 hours.
