First post =) I finally gave on up BlackBerry and I am now very much in love with my Galaxy 3! I'm trying to see if it's possible to set one of my personal ring tones for text, etc. When I pull up the menu to select ring tones, it only gives me the option of using the stock ring tones. The only time I've been able to select from my own ring tones is for the actual phone ring tone.

Ok. Am I the only one here who thinks that the ring tones and alerts on this phone are terrible!?! Let's get a general thread going with your favorite ring tones and alerts. Don't post full songs either, OC is encouraged.

I set my default ring tone to Flute. Every now and then I get a call from someone, and the ring tone is completely different. I don't see where to check individual ring tones, or for groups, and have no groups associated.

How do I check/correct/or set these ring tones other than default?

Hi for galaxy S2 I want to add my own sounds for incomng text messages but not sure how to do it as my phone is mainly used for text.not ringtones dont really like the default tones available I have an internal sd card. Thanks

I am coming from Blackberry to Android and one thing I am missing badly in my Samsung S Vibrant is there is no option to assign separate notification tones (for email, sms) to individual contacts. There is option for distinct ring tones (that works for incoming calls from the contacts) but I couldn't find a way to have separate notification tone for individual contacs.

Recent new weird issue. I am hearing random text tones (sounds when you normally receive a SMS text) but there is no such text or alert icon in the phone or status menu. Even the alert led is not on. I keep hearing it, running to check, and nothing. Is this a bug? Service is Net10.
