Hi there,
I am running Ubuntu 9.04 on a Toshiba laptop and having trouble getting it to suspend when idle.
In system -> preferences -> power management, under the 'battery power' tab I have set it to 'put computer to sleep when inactive for 11 minutes'.
Hello,I have gnome3 and gnome-power-manager installed to two different systems. In both cases I can not get the power manager to suspend the computers. Maybe I don't understand what power manager is supposed to do? My interpretation is that if I check the box that says put computer to sleep after xx minutes that it will automatically suspend after xx time period of inactivity.
My problem: The LCD display on my laptop wouldn't always go to DMPS sleep. Sometimes it did, sometimes it didn't.
I tried: All sorts of fixes including updates to xserver and gnome-power-manager ... but no luck.
I don't know if this is a bug or not so I am not sure how to proceed. :confused:
I run Fedora Linux 3.6.7-5.fc18.i686 with the KDE desktop v 4.9.3.
In 'System Settings' - 'Power Management' - 'AC Power', 'Button events handling'; I have it set to 'sleep' when the laptop lid is closed and it does this OK.
Seems the Xfce Power Manager isn't controlling my screen like I have it set. I have it set for 30/35 minutes for sleep/power off while on AC and 5/10 minutes for sleep/power off on battery...
Hi,
I had Xubuntu 12.10 installed on my Samsung NP-NC110. When I close the laptop lid it always goes to sleep (independently of power source - AC or battery). However I've selected "Lock screen" in power manager, here is a screenshot http://www.freeimagehosting.net/17el3 and it still goes to sleep after lid closing.
I supposed to get laptop working when lid is closed with this setting.
First, here's the constants: I keep wifi/BT/GPS on 100% of the time. This was true when battery life was good, and now that battery life is bad. Disabling these will improve battery life, but will not fix my problem.
When the phone is sleeping overnight, I used to get 8-12% battery usage over about 8 hours.
Hi all,
Anyone noticing intermittent problems with the screensaver not kicking in or the display not sleeping? This is in gnome under F11.
I have the Power Management Preferences set to put the display to sleep after 30 minutes of inactivity and gnome screensaver is configured for 5 minutes idle time.
How can I get my battery info (percentages) on Fluxbox?
I've heard of the gnome-power-manager, and wanted to use that, but there seems to be a problem...
$ gnome-power-manager
gnome-power-manager: command not found
And when I try to install it:
$ sudo apt-get install gnome-power-manager
