Yesterday, Telstra told us HTC was working on the Jelly Bean update for select One devices, and now HTC has confirmed it The One X, One XL and One S will be receiving an upgrade to Android 4.1 in the hopefully near future. Here’s the statement from HTC:
“We know HTC fans are excited to get their hands on Google’s latest version of Android.
HTC posted a Jelly Bean upgrade update and FAQ with good news for HTC One X and HTC One S owners. Both devices should get updated to Android 4.1 and Sense 4+ fairly soon but no date was given. HTC said it would first focus on bringing 2012 devices up to Jelly Bean then look at what 2011 devices would be compatible with the update.
The HTC One V and the HTC Desire C were the big update losers.
Canadian carrier Rogers has a late Christmas present for HTC One X owners; the Android Jelly Bean update is rolling out over the air to devices starting today. The update, which checks in at just over 634 MB (definitely use WiFi for this one), should start notifying owners that it’s available for download.
Finally Samsung started rolling out the Jelly Bean update for the tab2 10.1 but here's the thing. My sis, who has the exact same model, did get an update to Jelly Bean (4.1.2) and I didn't. She had a slightly newer version of Android (4.0.4) than me (4.0.3) but I thought the update would cover ALL tab 2 10.1s so what's the deal? Am I screwed out of an update or just not patient enough?
Samsung has begun rolling out Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) to its Galaxy S III smartphone in Europe — which could mean the handset is the first non-Nexus Android phone to get updated to Android 4.1.
Galaxy S III owners in Poland are first in the queue for the Jelly Bean update which began rolling out there today.
See i have this Motorola Atrix 2 and apparently t cannot update through the update software option in the About Phone area on the phone; but i have read about it being possible to update to an unofficial android OS such as Jelly Bean...even though they didn't release it officialy.
