I don't understand whats going on with my rootserver...
I have reset iptables and just opened the port for ssh.
Now suddenly over night I see that there are a various of ports open:
21,80, 135, 139, 445, 3128
Could it be that vsftpd for example put rules in automatically to allow input on port 21?
I also tried disabling iptables with this command:
I have a OpenVZ vps located in Germany and everything is working great except that I can't Open ports for my clients (in this case me) I want to be able to use my local xampp server and let others access it by typing in my vps (openvpn server's) ip address + I've heard that you may get better speeds with bittorrent if you have an open port to let the bittorrent client communicate through.
So after some battling and struggling with the firewall, i see that I may be doing something or the firewall isnt responding correctly there is has a port filter that is blocking certain ports.
by the way, I have combed the internet, posted on forums, done almost everything and now hence the website name "serverfault", is my last resort, I need help
