I'm attempting to RDP from the internet to a server in my LAN.
This is a rather complex problem. I've got a home web server I've been trying to set up on a virtual computer. I got Linux Mint 14 installed (cinnamon with codecs) with Apacha, PHP, MYSQL, htop, and nothing more. I have the networking settings in Virtual Box set to "bridged" and I'm port-forwarding via my router only port 80 over TCP to it.
Hi all,
I suppose I mainly want to ensure I understand this right. I've been playing around with installing an Ubuntu server at my school. I want to SSH in to work on it from home.
I'm trying to set up a web server for my first time. I'm running Ubuntu 12.04.1 and i've installed LAMP. I have also set up a static IP for the server, 192.168.0.111 and reserved it in the router settings. So far so good.
Now to the problem. I forwarded port 80 to the servers IP address, but the server is not responding to any connections.
Hi, I'm a little new to linux and networking. I have a small server that I want to use as storage for my home network. I have a wireless router acting as a bridge that is getting wireless signal from our main router in the home and turns the signal into wired for my network. I have a 8 port switch hooked to the router which all my computers are connected to.
If I've got a typical home router -- say a Net Gear -- which has certain ports forwarded to a internal server, is there a way to tweak the router to let me access that internal server using the external IP address from within the same network?
I'm using Comptrend ADSL router, I just hosting my personal website on my pc home..Then I have opened a port(80) and forward all TCP connection to My local server Ip adress, but still not working...
My NAT configuration look like this(open it in new tab to see more details):
I asked a friend to test this : http://41.225.221.242/; http://41.225.221.242:8080/ also not working, I checked Apache L
So I'm trying to set up SSH access to a friend's server, and we've learned from his ISP (SureWest) that their modem is bridged. Next, the router (Linksys E2000) was set up for port forwarding.
No outside access. We then tried DMZ to the server's IP. No go.
Then, we flashed the router with DD-WRT, still convinced it was a router issue.
I have a CentOS 5.7 server setup in my office. I have recently moved to a new router (Linksys E3200) and I don't seem to be able to access the web at all through it (git, yum etc.). All the other computers, phone iPads work fine. Just this Linux box.
