PolicyKit GUI - What happened?

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – So I understand that they got rid of the PolicyKit GUI between F11 and F12. What I don't understand is "why". I read the PolicyKit website and the information is a little above my head. I know that PolicyKit went through a lot of changes recently, which is fine, I'm all for making things better. But I'm not clear what was wrong with the old methods. When PolicyKit first came out, I thought it was a major pain to configure at the command line and I was never confident I knew what I was doing even when I got the results I wanted. When its GUI came out, I was very impressed at how intuitive and flexible it was. I had never before seen a utility which could configure specific user permissions on so many different actions AND was actually easy to use. Since the PolicyKit people took it away again, I feel like I'm back to square one. Can anyone please explain, in plain English, what was wrong with the old methods in PolicyKit? (HowTos)
