Plymouth graphical boot on F12 (not working for me)

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – Hi, I've been running F12/rawhide for months, it's now looking very good, although I'm still getting a text boot rather than graphical. I'm not sure if my config/method is correct now given the change from mkinitrd to dracut. Here's what I have in /boot/grub/menu.lst kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.31.5-96.fc12.i686.PAE rhgb root=/dev/VolGroup00/rootlv ro quiet SYSFONT=latarcyrheb-sun16 LANG=en_GB.UTF-8 KEYTABLE=uk rd_plytheme=spinfinity init=/sbin/bootchartd bootchartd is for me to check on boot times. I've also tried sudo plymouth-set-default-theme spinfinity (this works ok) sudo /usr/libexec/plymouth/plymouth-update-initrd It's this second one that worries me. Since this updates initrd-2.6.31.5-96.fc12.i686.PAE.img whilst by default dracut/kernel is now using initramfs-2.6.31.5-96.fc12.i686.img Anyone have this working? (HowTos)

Hello,

I installed Mandriva on /dev/sda5 and Fedora on /dev/sda3. Boot loader in the MBR is of Fedora12. It replaced the Mandriva bootloader that was there in the MBR. How can I boot Mandriva through Fedora's boot loader. The grub.conf file of my machine looks like this Quote:

Hi On my system i have win xp and Fedora 12 installed. My Grub menu used to be 1. Fedora 12 2. Windows Xp As normally i had Fedora and Windows. Now after an update it shows, 1. now it shows:

I have the following grub.conf

it didn't work. so heres what i did.

hi everyone I have problem with boot menu, when I install fedora12 on my laptop, it just gave me 2 possiblity.. 1- fedora 12 2- other

when I try on other it load recovery (not windows)

note: my windows is vista home basic, and even I try on editing chainloader,

this is /boot/grub/menu.lst

I really, really hate the new default plymouth theme in Fedora since 11, as such I'd rather use either Solar or Spinfinity as the default plymouth themes, however F12 for some reason keeps ignoring me when I set the default theme.

I upgraded to FC12 with preupgrade and all seemed to go well until I rebooted and now I get the following set of messages:
