Hey guys, I just recently upgraded from a basic slider phone to the Samsung galaxy S II i1777. I'm still new to the android scene but have a pretty good idea what rooting is. I've been trying to find a rooted kernel that I'll be able to flash to my phone but haven't had any luck. I found one for a i1777 running 2.3.5 but not one for 2.3.6? Anyone know if their is any way to root my phone?
I ran the all-in-one toolkit v2.0 to root my at&t htc one x but my phone is showing not rooted. I followed all the steps and successfully unlocked the bootloader then proceeded to flash the TWRP recovery. When I try to run apps that require root my phone says it's not rooted. I downloaded RootChecker app from the playstore and it says phone is not rooted.
Hi Everyone,
I am having issues with my previously rooted Nexus 7. My device was rooted when it first came with Nexus 7 toolkit v2.0 and was rooted successfully. After an update to android 4.2 via the OTA updates, the root status was taken off from the device so I've used to tookit again to restore the root.
OK so I spent slot of time searching for a root an for the 5860 with No luck. Finally I stumbled apon a one click root. I tested this an confirmed it with two different root checkers. It contains super user within the apk.i take absolutly no credit for this. It's pretty simple to use, It's called framaroot. Apk It can be downloaded off of 4shared. Once app is opened it self explainitory.
I previously rooted my nexus 7. Now, probably because of the latest update, it does not appear to be rooted.
I originally rooted it with the "Nexus Root Toolkit v. 1.5.5 by WugFresh".
Whats up guys, I'm still waiting on my Verizon GS4 to arrive, and I've been doing a lot of research on some rooting and what not. I've never rooted a phone before. So I'm 100% noob. I've read that when rooted, EVERYTHING is deleted off the phone. If I decide to eventually root my GS4, all I'll want off is Verizons bloatware, and a few of the Touch Wiz doodads.
So I currently have an HTC Thunderbolt (rooted with thundershed). It runs pretty good, but overall I'm ready to move on.
I'm also currently grandfathered with Verizons unlimited data and would like to keep it, since I do watch videos on my phone and tablet while tethered to my phone.
Hello All,
I followed the tutorial on how to root HTC One X with Hasoon2000's HTC One X All-In-One Toolkit.
I encountered a little problem installing CWM 5.8.2.7, so I manually installed 5.8.4 (which works great).
then I went on and did the root thing through the software.
It all seems good - I got the SU file under System/xbin, and got Superuser app on my phone.
I was looking to Root my new (Referb) phone from PlatinumTel
The phone Samsung Galaxy Prevail that came from PlatinumTel ($54.00) was already Rooted but I had to download the superuser from the Google Play market before I could use the Tools.
I verified the root access then used Rooted tools successfully: Titanium backup, adaway, Link2SD etc.
