http://tips4linux.com – Most DivX/XviD movies you download from Torrent sites are packed in multiple RAR archives. It takes some time for each to extract. If you don;t want to wait, you can use VLC and unrar to play the file within instantly. You won’t be able to rewind and move fast forward within the file, but you’ll be able to play it and stop the movie without actually unarchiving the video file. Here’s how: unrar p -inul /path/to/movie_folder/movie.name.r00 | vlc - This will let you enjoy the video without extracting it first. (HowTos)

Is there a way to play a video file located on my PC from my Samsung Galaxy S3? PocketCloud won't play video files. Astro File Manager will download the whole video file before playing, which is a long wait for movie files. AllSharePlay takes too long to buffer and video is suttered. I'm using Wi-Fi connection 5mbps or 555kBps. Thanks.

I can unrar the file on windows,it works tested!

I am trying to play 1080p HD video in mp4 format. The file has been downloaded and saved to my hard drive. The video will play then stop using movie player or AVC. I am using a Netbook. My nettbook has an intel processor but when I go into system info it says grahpics "unknown".

Any ideas?

I can achieve the same effect by encoding a new video, but that seems like overkill. If possible, it would be nice to play it like this by a right-click from the GUI. Is there any video player that can do this?
