For years, KDE has delivered excellence in its Plasma desktop environment. The Plasma project is so big in itself, it has three parts- Plasma Desktop, Plasma Netbook and the new Plasma Active. Plasma Active turned some heads in October this year, when its first version appeared for tablets.Plasma Active 2 claims that it adapts to the way you use your device.
Plasma Active is proud to announce our first Active App, or rather our first Active App suite. While interacting with what are generally referred to as "office documents" isn't what we may think of as "sexy" it's a very important set of functionality.
In a cooperative effort, the Mer team and the basysKom integrators have succeeded in booting a Plasma Active image on NVidia Tegra 2 devices, opening the door bringing Plasma Active to a wider range of hardware. The image is based on Mer, a successor to the MeeGo operating system.

To express myself mildly, I'm not a fan of interfaces for mobile devices. At best, they seem clumsy makeshifts, tolerable only because nothing better is available. The only exception is KDE's Plasma Active, which not only works well on tablets, but, with its recently released version 3.0, remains the only mobile-inspired interface I can tolerate on a workstation
