Plantronics Blackwire C220M microphone is not working

http://askubuntu.com – I'm new at linux and it's like my second day of usage. Have met 2 problems yet. One of them is that my USB Plantronics Blackwire C220M headset's mic isn't working. I've pluged it in and the headphones started to work imidiatly but mic haven't beed detected at all. Reboot solved that and the mic appeared in the Input devices. But when i try to sellect it the audio setting menu just crushes. Ubuntu asked 2 times to send a report after that's happening and now the audio setting window just silently closing after i try to sellect the headset's mic. Changing USB port don't help. Searching for same (HowTos)

OS: Ubuntu 12.04 installed with virtualbox on Windows 7 Headset: Mic plantronics audio 400 DSP

Issues: I cannot use the MIC but I can hear sound from the headset without problems.

Here is the sound settings:

selected Output: LFE on Separate Mono Ouput/Amplifier Buit-in Audio

Input options: Vido built-in audio analog input built-in audio line in built-in audio microphone/microphone

I am continuing my hunt for a good DECT headset.

The Plantronics D100 USB DECT headset is a wonderful tool when it works as it allows autonomy of up to 100 meters from the computer during conversations. However, it does not work under Linux, as per the disclaimer of Plantronics.

I'm posting this here because adding the headset is what caused the problems, but I'm not positive how to tell if it's a hardware or software issue.

Does anybody have an external microphone working with an HP Mini 210HD via the headset jack?

I want to listen to streaming audio from Ubuntu using headset (Bose Bluetooth Headset Series 2 http://goo.gl/4Wt1A). Although Bluetooth connection is established, I haven't been able to hear anything via the headset.

Kind of similar to this, I paired my Bluetooth headset (Turtle Beach Ear Force PX5) in Ubuntu and it at first showed up in "Sound Settings" after pairing. It was not initially working, so I started tweaking some settings. I tweaked a setting on the microphone, and all of a sudden both the output/input device disappeared.

I have a thinkpad t410 with a combo headset/mic jack (just one for both) but can not seem to get ubuntu to use my headset microphone.

The internal microphone works fine..in fact, when I plug in my headset the audio comes through the headset but the microphone is actually the internal mic not the ones from the headset.

I have checked my sound preferences and only have one option of device to choo

I connected my bluetooth headset to my computer and whenever I try to change the audio input from my computer's internal mic to the headset, the program crashes immediately. Is this happening to just me or is it a common thing? Every other setting works (changing output, adjusting volume, etc). It's just when I click on my wireless headset under the input tab it crashes. How do i fix this?
