Apparently this device is due to hit markets sometime in the near future but unfortunately there is no word on when or where. The dual-core Xperia P has found itself a loyal following by boasting a sexy design, decent specs and a reasonable price to go along with it. As we reported earlier, an upgraded version of the Sony Xperia S appears to be on the way. Sources indicate the device, an LT26ii listed as a Sony Xperia SL, will run on an overclocked 1.7GHz Snapdragon S3 chip. The image that has surfaced shows the device in pink and in blue/violet. This is the second pink Xperia that has been spotted this week.

As a follow up to last week’s Xperia P Ice Cream Sandwich rollout, Sony Mobile today announced their 2011 Xperia line of phones will be getting new Android 4.0.4 firmware. Starting this week, the first phones to receive the update are the Xperia arc, Xperia arc S, Xperia neo, Xperia neo V, Xperia mini, Xperia pro, Xperia active and Xperia ray.

Sony announced plans to rollout an over-the-air (OTA) update over the next few days for three devices to bring them up to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The devices include the Sony Xperia Go, Xperia U and Xperia Sola.

If you have been searching the smartphone market for a pink handset, your potential choices may be ready to grow by at least one. According to sources, a metallic pink version of the Sony Xperia P was spotted at Sony’s Weibo event.

Today, Sony began rolling out an update to Ice Cream Sandwich for the Xperia P, Xperia U, Xperia go and Xperia sola devices that’ll come packed with ‘bug fixes’ and ‘performance tweaks.’ It’s unclear what exactly those tweaks are, but who among us doesn’t like a little tweaking?  The update to the firmware includes improvements to:

Sony Mobile has confirmed that the Xperia Play’s upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich has been canceled, leaving the PlayStation-certified smartphone on Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

Sony has formally unveiled three new Xperia NXT family smartphones with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and Qualcomm Snapdragon mobile processors inside.

Following the company’s Xperia acro S release, Sony has announced the impending US availability of its budget-level Xperia Tipo and Xperia Tipo Dual handsets. Currently available in Europe, the smartphones both sport an 800MHz single-core Snapdragon CPU, 512MB of RAM, a 3.2-inch HVGA (480×320) display and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Sony has announced that the Xperia Go will arrive in Canada by November. The Go features a 3.5-inch display, a 1 GHz dual-core processor, a 5MP camera, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (don’t hold your breath for an upgrade to Jelly Bean). The Go is a decent low to mid range device that offers great protection and falls in that category of  ”rugged” devices.
