http://www.linuxforums.org – Okay, I'm stumped. I have several linux (Fedora C11) servers, dual homed. One specific server pings all the hosts in /etc/hosts correctly. However, I have one host defined (192.168.1.150) in that host file and when pinging this host it returns a lookup of 64.158.56.49 (IP completely unrelated to my network) and hangs. I can ping the IP address (192.168.1.150) directly, but using an associate hostname of any kind yields the hanging effect. nnswitch.conf entry for hosts is DNS, Files. If I switch it to Files,DNS I can ping the hostname. Is this a DNS caching issue? Any clues would be he (HowTos)
