I'm not sure if anyone has the same problem. It can be a problem of my own system, as I didn't find any signs of it in Google, that's why I'm not sure if it's worth a bug report.
Preconditions: Pidgin is added into tray whitelist; showing mode "Always" in enabled for tray icon.
I uninstalled indicator-messages because I'd rather have separate icons for my programs. The problem I have now is that pidgin icon won't show up (while others do, like empathy, skype and so on). Or to be more precise, it shows up but is transparent.
If you have any idea about how to fix that, it's appreciated. I tried to relaunch pidgin once or twice but it doesn't change anything.
I'm trying using /usr/share/pixmaps/pidgin/tray/ path to customize tray icons for Pidgin, but it's not working Is it possible customize tray icons for Pidgin bundle?
LOL. Any ideas ?!I thought about a dock, but I like my tint2 panels and my dmenu a lot.So, how do you deal with system tray apps ?I mean...
I refuse to believe that no-one on this forum knows the default locations of each icon that appears in the tray and on the taskbar.
Hey
I have been fighting with checkgmail and pidgin, because after a while their tray icons disappear in unity. Also the black message boxes don't show up with pidgin (e.g. when someone writes a message to me), when the task tray icons are not visible. Weirdly enough, when I switch between workspaces, the icons are visible during the switching.
Hello,
skype has no more icon in system tray when I close its window. It is still active, as its notifications do appear, but I have no more access to it, cannot make calls, etc. If I close its window and try to call it again, I cannot login because it is already in use. System tray is there but only with sound and printer, and the indicator display does not show it as running.
Pidgin is a free instant-messaging client that combines all your IM accounts in one simple application. Instead of running several different IM clients that display ads and eat up memory, just use Pidgin.
Am running 11.2/KDE on dual Athlon 32 bit. On startup the hplip device manager tries to place its icon in the system tray, but this fails with the message "No system tray detected on this system". The system tray is not yet present, but appears moments later.
