On CentOS 5.9 i686 running WHM 11.38, I was attempting to upgrade mysql from 5.0 to 5.5 using shell instead of WHM because I was told it was safer that way as it would keep the old mysql lib intact and my sites would have no downtime. HA. The shell upgrade failed. So I attempted to upgrade using WHM mysql upgrade and that failed.
Upgrade Tool Docs:
http://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/CentOSUpgradeToolMake sure you listen to the tool if it tells you that you have Medium,
High, or Extreme issues and mitigate them before trying to upgrade.
You can not upgrade if you have a GNOME or KDE desktop, for example.
Let's give this a try and hopefully we can move this out of testing and
into Extras next week.

Can we upgrade from 11.04 full iso CD, in this case witch version(desktop, server or alternate)?
this morning I had a perfectly fine 12.04 server, but then, out of some kind of mental derangement, I decided to enter 'do-release-upgrade' as proposed by the greeting message in my terminal window (maybe I thought i was running 14.04 and the upgrade to 14.04.1 wouldn't hurt, maybe my brain was still booting, I don't know...).
