I know Yahoo declined the recent Microsoft deal but what if Microsoft would sweeten the deal and yahoo excepts it, would the Yahoo brand die? Yahoo Japan is to buy Japanese telco eAccess from wireless provider Softbank in a deal worth $3.2 billion, it said today. Softbank itself acquired eAccess back in October 2012, in a share swap deal valued at around $2.6 billion. Yahoo Japan is a joint venture between Yahoo and Softbank. Reuters notes that Softbank owns a stake of around 42.5% in Yahoo Japan.
We now have more details about the deal between Yahoo and Tomfoolery, an enterprise app studio co-founded by ex-Yahoo and ex-AOL alums, which we and others have reported is getting acquired by Yahoo.
According to a source close to the deal, the acquisition has indeed now closed, and Yahoo will officially announce it as soon as this evening or tomorrow morning.
Two weeks ago I booked a flight for a couple days before christmas. Twice now Delta has changed my flight information. The flight originally left at 10:00 AM, was then bumped to 9:00 AM. No problem, still not that early I thought. Now they've moved it a 6:45 AM departure, so I will have to be at the airport around 4:45 so I have to get up around 3:45 AM now.
