When you start messing about with custom ROMs, apps and whatnot, you come across setting permissions. It's usually the r-shaped one, but sometimes not. Can I just give (whatever) full/all permissions (clicking all the boxes)?
I recently set up a test VM to prepare to move my home server to linux. After following the steps detailed here, it doesn't work as expected. There is no "sharing" section in my KDE system settings as described in the wiki. I was able to get the properties pane working, but only partially.I can share a folder and accessing it works.
I've read multiple times about file permissions and Samba sharing. I am still confused. It seems that what I have learned so far is that what a user can do in a Samba share is affected by both Linux and Samba permission settings.
