Recently installed Lubuntu 12.04 with alternate installer on Compaq Evo N400c (850Mhz PIII, 20GB ATA HDD, 512MB RAM).
After installation of restricted extras and medibuntu codecs I realized that it can't play videos. I tried Midori, Firefox, Chrome, Chromium but all the browsers say: "Shockwave plugin cannot opened...." I tried Adobe plugin, no succes.
folks,
has any one tried to play a video at 1.5x or 2x speed? i want to play some informative videos at 2x speed and having hard time to find a player that can do this job.
iMPlayer does this (with s/w codec mode) but has bad audio quality and cannot play the video smoothly (there is a lag in the frames).
So i added the debian multimedia repo's and after i upgraded my vlc player now shrinks the videos to the right side of the screen and plays in black and white. subtitles still play in correct spots though. i would like to keep vlc and not use a different media player so recommending a different player doesnt help. thanks for reading.here is a screenshot of whats happening.
Doesn't matter the player.. tried SMPlayer and VLC. After opening numerous video files, the players only play audio. Video will play in Chromium and Firefox, just not in video players. I'd watch a bunch of trailers I downloaded, and after say 10 or so, just get audio. I must say I'm vexed. I'd even need a solution, just an idea of what is the issue.
I want to watch a number of trailers and make notes inbetween each one. So, instead having them play one after the other without stopping, I want each one to automatically stop once it's done, and then I'll hit a key to play the next one in the playlist.
How do I do this?
(I have Movie Player (aka Totem) and VLC Media Player. I would prefer not to install another media player unless I have to.)
My personal review:
I found this app few days back in xda (Google Floating Video Player) and installed on my S3. Looks amazing. Its smooth and now I feel like enjoying all videos on my device. I can zoom in and out my videos and also can float the videos on my home screen.
It started a few days ago, around Feb 14.
I'm running Firefox on Ubuntu, Lucid Lynx, with Shockwave Flash (flash player) 11.2 r202 which was just updated on Feb 15.
Just about that time I noticed that some of the videos on youtube.com won't play, the video play object says "This video is currently unavailable".
Then after a while, more and more until all videos on youtube.com wo
I have installed Ubuntu 12.04 on my Lenovo machine, having 1.5 GB of RAM and a wide screeen LCD Dell monitor (I think videos have a 16:9 aspect ratio).
The problem is I am not able to see videos in VLC or Totem movie players.
I'm able to listen to sound, but videos are not displayed.
SMPlayer is working well to display video.
Could anyone please explain to me how to play videos in other media
