I cannot add ppa which work on 12.10 on 13.04 as per below. Any ideas?

So I'm an Ubuntu noob trying to broaden his OS horizons. It's been going well until just now when I started looking at some games to install. I downloaded Urban Terror, but I can't seem to get it running. UrTUpdater won't run for me, and I've looked around at other people having problems but none of their suggestions helped.
After reinstalling pulseaudio, and latter ubuntu-desktop to the latest version there is no sound in Ubuntu 12.04
