Leaked earlier this month, the Samsung Galaxy S II 4G in Titanium is Boost Mobile’s newest prepaid handset. The device is essentially a re-purposed Galaxy S II, sporting the same specifications of Samsung’s 2011 flagship smartphone.
Some OEMs and OEMs are far from convinced that Windows 8 will reinvigorate PC sales, and are worried that if Microsoft low balls the price of its Windows RT-powered Surface tablet, this could have a negative knock-on effect on sales.
Samsung just announced another smartphone sales milestone: its Galaxy S series has passed channel sales (or sales to retailers, not end users) of more than 100 million units since launching in May 2010, the Korean conglomerate announced via its Flickr stream.
The final quarter of 2013 was very good for Samsung. According to Strategy Analytics, Samsung’s market share grew to more than 29.6%, compared to 29.0% for the same quarter in 2012. In looking at the entire year, Samsung’s share increased to 32.4%, up from 30.4%. Apple’s market share, however, fell in both the final quarter and overall in 2013.
Samsung never seems to disappoint with sales. The company’s April 11 launch of the flagship Galaxy S 5 smartphone has reportedly surpassed sales of last year’s Galaxy S 4 by more than 30%. In fact, some European markets experience sales growth of more than double when comparing the GS5 to last year’s GS4.
