ZenPayroll, which has a list of all-star investors, is disrupting a space that incumbents like ADP and Paychex have dominated for some time.
Intuit has quietly made another acquisition today to expand its accounting and back office management business, this time focusing on payroll. Acrede, a Jersey, UK-based provider of global, cross-border and cloud-based payroll services, is joining Inuit; and its CEO and founder, Karen Paterson, is being named Intuit’s director of payroll platform.

ZenPayroll, the startup that offers an easy to use, cloud-based payroll application; is announcing a new round of Series A funding totaling $20 million. The round was led by General Catalyst Partners with Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers also participating.
Cloud Sherpas has raised $40 million and made its eighth acquisition to expand its cloud brokerage service.
The funding, lead by Greenspring Associates, brings Cloud Sherpas’ total to $62.6 million. Existing investors Columbia Capital and Delta-V Capital joined in the new round.
