Linux Magazine: "It's time for the Free Software Foundation (FSF) and other free software supporters to stop being the Party of Gno, and start thinking of positive ways to push for software freedom."
Free Software Magazine: "Most people with an interest in software freedom will turn to GNU/Linux as their operating system of choice. Few realize however, that the vast majority of GNU/Linux distros are not entirely free. Imagine migrating away from Windows, only to find that by installing GNU/Linux you are accepting a restrictive Microsoft license!"
I recently installed Squeeze. Almost every time I install software I have unresolvable dep errors. In my Software Sources Everything is checked Main, Contrib, Non-Free and source. But in 3rd party the only thing in there is the installation CD. Is this correct or am I missing repos? downside of running testing?
Free Software Magazine: "There seems to be no respite from the predations of Microsoft FUD and the machinations of Big Business. Just when it seemed safe to come out of the closet and admit to being a user of free and open source software without being accused of being a Communist, it appears that we are now criminals too"
Free Software Magazine: "One of the great advantages of using a free license for a work is that you can re-use a growing body of free-licensed source material to help you do it. But it can seem a little daunting to find the material that you both want and can legally use."
Free Software Foundation: "We have already published a petition condemning ACTA on a number of specific grounds which we urge you to sign if you haven't already. If you would like to know more, please read the rationale for this declaration. Right now, you can take action!"
