Since upgrading to 12.04 my file manager panes are black and no file names are visible. I can see them if I highlight them all, but that is not much use in practice.

Can I change the background colour of my f-m pane??

Is there a specific mount point to use for a partition so that it would appear separately in the side pane?

I mean that it would appear separately in the left pane of PCManFM or Thunar the way windows-partition and external usb devices appear.

(I do not mean it being the /home partition.

I have been bumping my head into a wall on this one, as I can't seem to find the correct syntax.

I've been trying various terminal emulators lately, from the built-in gnome-terminal, aterm, xterm, wterm, to rxvt.

GNU Screen has a command called exec that will launch a subprocess and optionally let you do things with its file descriptors, including tying them to your window. I frequently use :exec !!

In tmux, when i use main-vertical layout, it always selects the main pane that will be having the larger size. Is there any way we can make the current pane the larger size when using main-vertical? or changing the current pane to the main pane.?

I just wanted an editable path bar but Nautilus don't seem to have that feature and I had to go search Google finally to locate it in tweak tool. I just want a conveniently located Open as Root/sudo option in right click to every folder and file. I don't want to do gksudo nautilus everytime I need privileges for a folder. I want a split pane option.
