http://ubuntuforums.org – When I move something with my laptop touchpad (e.g. a picture, window etc), the cursor keeps on moving when I reach to the edge of the touchpad. This has been bothering me since the first day I installed Linux. For example, I move something with my touchpad, then I stop because my finger has reached the end of my touchpad but the object keeps on moving to the same direction. The only way I can stop this is when I move my finger to the opposite direction. This issue might even make me switch back to Windows if I have to. I prefer not to though. Touchpad cursor inertia 19 weeks 2 days ago

When using my synaptics touchpad on Windows, the driver has the option of giving the cursor inertia (note, not just the scrolling).

I found it a lot less straining to use the touchpad with this feature enabled.

Jittery/shakey... I don't know exactly what word to use. English isn't my first language.

But when I keep my finger still on the touchpad, the mouse pointer seems to keep moving rapidly within a tiny square area.

The option to disable the touchpad while typing does not work on my Samsung RC512 with an Elantech touchpad and I enjoy two-finger scroll and middle-click emulation with two fingers too much to disable tapping the touchpad. When I type the cursor will jump around because I'll hit the touchpad with my palm. How can I disable one-finger tapping but keep multi-finger tapping?

I have a keyboard with a built-in touchpad that I often use with my laptop, but while the laptop's built-in touchpad does support scrolling by stroking the right-hand edge of the touchpad, the touchpad on the external keyboard does not. Is there any way to add this functionality? Or better yet, is there any way to emulate the two-finger scrolling (vertical and horizontal) as on the Mac?

Waldorf 11 is causing my cursor to freeze up every so often. If I drag my finger up or down the touchpad, the cursor doesn't move, but the page (when I'm using a webpage) scrolls in the opposite direction. This hasn't happened with any previous stable/unstable version of #! (am using 2012-10-15). Pointing stick works fine even when cursor freezes up.

I am using 12.04 on a macbook pro. Everything works really well. I want to disable 3 finger gestures. It is way to easy to accidentally drag/move a window(3 finger gesture) while scrolling(2 finger gesture) when using a touchpad.

I found this answer on ask ubuntu. It was marked answered but it is not. The functionality is still there.

I recently installed Fedora 13 on my hp 6730b laptop alongside Windows 7 on an extended partition. Everything's working fine but I can't click using the synaptic touchpad. The cursor is moving around fine using the touchpad but to click I need to use the left button.

Any input on this is appreciated...

I am relatively new to Fedora. I have it installed on an HP EliteBook 6930p and it works fine there. I also put F17 on my Dell Mini 1012 and there is a problem that doesn't happen on the HP. Namely, I cannot click and drag with the touchpad.

It is disabled (greyed out) in Mouse and Touchpad settings. Edge scrolling works though :) Tried many solutions available online but couldn't succeed.
