I installed Mint 13 Cinnamon today. I already have Windows XP installed. Now the problem is that the grub bootloader does not appear. Instead when I start the PC I see "Frequency out of range - 90 K / 59 HZ" on the monitor and after a while Mint loads. I posted this problem on the Mint forums too but no solution yet.
Hello
I have intalled Linux Mint and Fedora on the same hdd on differente partitions.
On /dev/sda is installed Linux Mint grub2. Fedora is installed on /dev/sda6
When computer run only Linux Mint is avalible. Mint´s grub doesnot detect Fedora.
In Mint I try
Code:
grub-update
and it detect Linux Mint, Windows 8, but doestnot detect Fedora 17.
I have been told I may find the answer to my issue here.
I am trying to install Linux Mint 13 on a Clevo B5100 laptop. The wireless network is the issue.
I tried the Live CD and it seems the network adaptor has a problem. I have included a screenshot of my hardware using Windows 7 that is already installed. Has anyone successfully been able to install this version with this hardware.
I can't boot my Linux Mint after installation of Windows. First I installed Windows and then installed Linux Mint with the option of "Install along with windows". But after I completed the Mint install only Windows is booting.
I have done some search on the web and found that installing Grub from the Live CD will help on this issue.
Having been a Ubuntu user for a while, I switched to Mint 13 recently. All was well until I had to buy a new PC which had Windows 7 - 64bit installed.
It hasn't taken me long to realise how much I dislike it. So I thought I would dual boot using Mint 14 along side Windows 7. I used the Mint 14- 64 bit iso disc and got as far as the Linux Mint desktop. Everything worked great from the CD.
i had windows 8 on my laptop. wanted to increase its efficiency so i had installed linux mint 14 alongwith windows 8 however both were loaded on same partition. iwas getting some problem on partition load and data proceesion, so i decided to completely uninstall windows 8 and have linux mint only. however, when uninstalling windows 8 using gparted i deleted the windows partition.
I'm trying to install Linux Mint 13 with Cinnamon via the 64 bit DVD image from within Windows. I've tried both installing it to C: which is my Windows system disk, but also to D: which is another physical disk entirely. The same thing happens on both disks.
The Windows part of the installation completes and it tells me to reboot.
