Hi folks
I am using the Fedora 17 GNOME spin, installed from Live DVD.
I have a Lenovo T430 laptop with Intel HD Graphics 4000 connected to a dock with 2 external displays.
If I boot with no external displays, it boots fine with the laptop display as the primary display.
If I boot with only 1 external display, it boots fine with the laptop display as the primary display, and the external
hey. I recently took the (broken) screen off my laptop. I'm temporary using a tv but I rarely use that laptop around. It currently has Ubuntu 10.10 and no other OS. Would it be possible for me to make my external display default on the boot itself?
Dear all,
I have a Dell XPS13 connected via a mini-display port+DVI cable to an external monitor. I have installed Kubuntu 13.04 and all is working well, EXCEPT that the resolution on the external monitor only mirrors the resolution of my laptop screen (1920x1080). I only see one "default" screen when I try to set it up (settings-> display, or kcm_screen).
So, I start Ubuntu on my laptop, then I plug in my external monitor and I go to preferences and click on display to change the screen from laptop io the external one, just as I click on display, the laptop screen goes dark, only I see the mouse pointer, and nothing on the external screen.
If I turn on the computer with the external display plugged in, everything works fine.
I have a Dell Precision M6500 laptop with 2 x 24" dell monitors connected via a docking station.
Lenovo thinkpad (W510) with nvidia display adapter w/ External display.
I was just playing with hardware on Ubuntu the other day, just by adding a second monitor (acer) to my laptop (dell vostro 1000). All went fine, some display settings worked out, other didn't (laptop could only handle the 1280x720 60hz setting, the acer screen could handle other screen resolutions and refreshrates).
Hi!
I'm running OS11.2 w/KDE 4.3.4 on a Dell Latitude D820 laptop. Graphiccard: Nvidia Quadro NVS 140M
Laptop is docked in a docking-station(D-dock) and to dockingstation i have connected an external 22" LCD-screen.
I use Nvidia-settings to configure TwinView and define the external screen to be the primary.
I'd like to disable my laptop monitor at startup (when an external monitor is connected), but make it available in X.By default, my boot looks like :* Grub2 displays only on my external monitor (at maximum resolution)* Kernel displays only on my external monitor (maximum resolution)* udev (I think) is started and turns on my laptop screen.
