I tried fresh install 4 times on each Ubuntu 12.10 and Linux Mint 14 Cinnamon (both 64bits)
I tried several methods, through:

Also
sudo apt-get install fglrx-updates
Also generating the deb packages, and running it.
Also downloaded the ati drivers and executed that .run file (all through commands, cant remember them).

Hi there.
I am new to Ubuntu since about 5 hours ago, and I have a problem using my Nvidia AGP graphics card.
The glowing ubuntu logo shows up but after that my monitor displays a message saying "Out of range 59Hz". My monitors optimal is 60Hz @ 1680 x 1050. This setup works fine on my on-board graphics but not on my Nvidia 7600.
Greetings,
I installed the nvidia proprietary drivers with click-install and everything perfect, I have desktop effects working but the problem is that when you open the config. screen settings to make sure everything was really good, I get to screen unknown April.
I upgraded all packages with sudo apt-get upgrade command on my Ubuntu 10.04 box and I have Ubuntu 12.04 3.2.0-29-generic-pae now. I have two monitors and the following GPU:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GT218 [NVS 300] (rev a2)
After upgrading to 12.04, I somehow lost my previous setup with one common workspace stretched across two monitors.
I installed Mint 13 Cinnamon today. I already have Windows XP installed. Now the problem is that the grub bootloader does not appear. Instead when I start the PC I see "Frequency out of range - 90 K / 59 HZ" on the monitor and after a while Mint loads. I posted this problem on the Mint forums too but no solution yet.
Hi all,
I'm thinking of buying an IPS monitor, specifically the Viewsonic VP2365WB, since I do photography and need this kind of monitors.
But I did a web search and can't find whether this monitor has Linux drivers. Their page only shows Windows drivers, not even Mac drivers.
Any clues here?
I'm running Ubuntu 9.10
I am using Linux Mint 13 - Mate in my Laptop and I am new to Linux.
Configuration - i3 Processor, nVidia GeForce GT 420M.
I am using a external monitor from Benq Corporation. I installed the latest nVidia drivers 310.19 from here.
I recently installed Ubuntu 10.4 onto an older computer. Upon trying to boot off the live CD, my monitor would go "out of range" (screen would turn black and display a hardware error message "out of range").
Since Ubuntu 11.04 Natty, after a fresh Ubuntu installation on my desktop PC, the monitor starts into ‘input signal out of range Change Settings to **x** 60HZ’.
The problem can be fixed by reset the Grub screen resolution ratio.
