Optus to launch converged IPTV service with FetchTV

IPTV service provider FetchTV, whose service will be resold by iiNet and other Australian ISPs, has selected middleware from Israeli company Orca Interactive to underpin its service offering.

iiNet has revealed that FetchTV will be providing the content for its long-awaited IPTV service.

iiNet has launched its long-awaited IPTV service based on resale of FetchTV and branded fetchtv 2, soon to be followed by fetchtv 1.

Internode has reduced prices for its fetchTV IPTV service by one third, just two days after the launch of the rival IPTV service from Quickflix.

Ten months after it kicked off a trial of the service and almost a year after it was launched by rival iiNet, national broadband provider Internode has launched the FetchTV internet video service on its network, pricing the offering at very similar rates to those offered by iiNet.

Internode has formally launched its version of the FetchTV IPTV service offering video-on-demand, time-shifted television viewing and a range of TV channels. The launch coincides with a redesign of the FetchTV user interface

The fetchtv IPTV service is now available from another Australian ISP. Westnet has announced it will offer the service to its customers as an add-on.
