I found the problem.These lines of code in my ".xinit" file that allow me to enter Japanese text were the problem:# Setup SCIM for Japanese input
export XMODIFIERS=@im=SCIM
export GTK_IM_MODULE="scim"
export QT_IM_MODULE="scim"
scim -f x11 -c simple -dI'll comment them out for now. Lately I reconfigure Openbox much more often than I type Japanese.
hi, as the title says, I cannot use SCIM in any GTK3 application, works on GTK2 apps, the current GTK3 apps I'm using are spaceFM and sakura, it's pretty annoying because I have to open leafpad and write the things up, and then, copy and paste it. the same problem happens with the qt apps.

there's a similar bug report here, where this happens in KDE unless KDM is used: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/32371probably the same thing. if it really bothers you, you could try starting your xfce4 session via KDM...
